PRINCETON — The Green Valley-Glenwood Volunteer Fire Department responded quickly to a report of a trailer fire shortly before 9 a.m., Friday in the westbound lanes of U.S. Route 460 near Ramey Row in Princeton.

Chief David Thompson of Green Valley-Glenwood VFD said the Mercer County Solid Waste Authority was transporting a load of cardboard to the authority’s recycling center in Green Valley when the load ignited. The pickup truck driver operating the vehicle separated the vehicle from the trailer to remove the threat of additional damage.

There were no injuries in the incident, Thompson said.
