New business brings jobs to Bluefield, Va.

BLUEFIELD, Va. — A new Aaron’s store in Bluefield, Va., is bringing about a dozen jobs to the area.

The new store is now open in the old Kroger building on South College Avenue.

“We have already hired six people and are in the process of hiring more,” store manager Micky Carter said. “We hope to get a total of 12 employees.”

The store plans to celebrate its grand opening on May 2 and 3.

Bluefield, Va., Mayor Don Harris said the new store is a welcomed addition to the community.

“We are glad they are here and we welcome the new store,” Harris said.

Aaron’s has been in business for more than 60 years. The store will sell high quality furniture, appliances, electronics and computers for sale or as a lease-ownership arrangement, according to a company press release announcing the opening of the Bluefield, Va., store.

It will be the first Aaron’s store in Virginia to have the new contemporary “GEN4” showroom design featuring modern designer fixtures throughout the building, according to Becky Rehorn, regional director of sales and marketing for Aaron’s.
