A McDowell County man who was injured Monday in a single-vehicle crash on U.S. Route 52 is now in the intensive care unit of a Charleston hospital.
Matthew Hamilton, 33, of Switchback, was driving south on Route 52 near Elkhorn when his 1998 Ford Ranger flipped several times and ejected him. He was flown by helicopter ambulance to Charleston Area Medical Center, said Trooper J.K. Weiss of the West Virginia State Police detachment in Welch.
Hamilton is currently undergoing evaluation in the hospital’s ICU, Weiss said. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
