Shots fired at residence in Bluefield; man arrested after brandishing firearm

BLUEFIELD — Police in Bluefield took a man into custody shortly after noon today after responding to calls that the man was brandishing a firearm in the vicinity of the Greyhound Bus Terminal on Bland Street.

Approximately 30 minutes later, police responded to reports of shots fired at a residence on Woodland Drive off Glendale Avenue, also in Bluefield.

Bluefield Police Chief J.W. “Joe” Wilson said it appeared as though someone had “fired two shots into the door” of the residence on Woodland, but did not gain access to the residence.
