Hinton Police arrest man on arson charges in connection with major morning fires
12 houses gutted on Temple Street; area known as Brick Row, no injuries or deaths reported

HINTON — Hinton Police have confirmed that Billy Joe Gill, 25, of Hinton, has been arrested and charged with First Degree arson in connection with two Tuesday morning fires, one which destroyed 12 Brick Row houses on Temple Street. No injuries or deaths have been reported and officials believe all fire victims escaped without bodily harm.
Police also said Gill is lodged in the Souhthern Regional Jail at Beaver pending further judicial proceedings.
Firefighters from across Summers County responded to the fires, the first was a single structure on Fifth Avenue at approximately 1:30 a.m. and then subsequently the Temple Street multiple unit blaze a short while later.
