A three-car wreck on College Avenue sent one person to the hospital Friday afternoon.

Around 2:10 p.m., a woman was extricated from her Chevrolet Cobalt by rescue crews after a second   vehicle, a Buick LeSabre, made a right hand turn on College Avenue and t-boned another vehicle, a Chevy HHR, sitting at the stop light on College Avenue. A third vehicle was also involved in the accident with minor damage, according to Patrolman N.J.W. Allen of the Bluefield Police Department.

Once the Buick struck the Cavalier, the Buick kept moving and ran into a concrete wall in front of the First Century Bank on College Avenue. The Buick then struck and toppled a light pole onto College Avenue in front of the bank.

Officers with the Bluefield Police Department were already on scene at the bank investigating an earlier bank robbery when the accident occurred.

The Bluefield Rescue Squad and Bluefield Fire Department responded to the call.

As of Friday afternoon, no citations had been issued.

Allen said the accident is still under investigation.
