The Mercer County Sheriff’s Department is currently investigating an armed robbery that was reported at 3 a.m. today.
A male suspect entered Pop’s, a video lottery establishment, in Glenwood by smashing in the front door, according to a release issued this morning by the sheriff’s department. Once inside the suspect pointed a handgun at one employee and demanded money. The suspect then fled with an undetermined amount of cash.
The suspect is described as a 6-foot-tall male, weighing around 175 pounds, and wearing light-colored jeans and a black ski mask.
Detective D.W. Sparks is leading the investigation. Deputy D.A. Furches and his bloodhound, Maggie, were also sent to the scene.
