Firefighters battle early morning blaze in Bluewell community

BLUEWELL — Firefighters responded to a house fire early this morning around 5:13 a.m.

The fire was reported on Packing Plant Road in Bluewell. When firefighters arrived the house was fully engulfed in flames, Lt. Bob Burton of the Bluewell Fire Department said.

The homeowner was not at home at the time and there were no injures, Burton said.

Most of the house except the basement was destroyed, Burton said.

Firefighters had the blaze out by 9:22 a.m. 

The Bluewell Fire Department was assisted by the Bramwell Volunteer Fire Department, Montcalm Volunteer Fire Department and Green Valley Fire Department, Burton said.
