BLUEFIELD — The search for a new city manager in Bluefield is underway.

Mayor Tom Cole said the board would meet in an executive session to decide on when the board would begin to advertise for the position.

Interim City Manager Dennis Dillow reported that he asked Bluefield redevelopment director Josh Cline to help as the assistant city manager. Dillow also thanked the Public Works Department for all the hard work they did during the recent snow storm.

“I want to make sure these guys get some recognition they have done a wonderful job with all the snow removal in the past few weeks,” Dillow said.

Dillow also reported that the new VA mobile clinic ribbon cutting and opening went extremely well, over 1200 veterans will benefit from the mobile clinic and over 500 veterans have signed up to use the clinic.

The board also thanked the Bluefield Beautification Commission for the wonderful job they did putting on the Winter Warmer, saying the event was a great success and wonderful fundraiser that provides the flowers and upkeep for the city.

The board voted to authorize for the city manager to pursue legal action against Ramsey School Bar for outstanding fees and taxes.
