Boil water advisory lifted for Spanishburg, Lashmeet and Kegley communities

Bluefield Daily Telegraph

BLUEFIELD —  A boil water advisory issued by West Virginia American Water has been lifted for Mercer County residents in the Spanishburg, Lashmeet and Kegley areas.

Officials with the water company said the 350 customers under the advisory following a scheduled water service disruption Sunday afternoon can now safely utilize their water system. A company spokesperson said results of water quality testing have confirmed that the water quality meets drinking water standards and there is no further need to boil water prior to consumption.

The service interruption was done so water company crews could make repairs to a pressure reducing valve. Customers are encouraged to share this information with other West Virginia American Water customers in the affected area.
