Winter storm warning remains in effect for parts of the region through Tuesday afternoon

BLUEFIELD — So much for spring. A winter storm warning for much of the region remains in effect until Tuesday afternoon.

Roads across the region are snow-covered and slick this morning. A winter storm warning remains in effect until 2 p.m. for Mercer, Tazewell and Summers counties. Bland County is under a winter weather advisory.

According to the National Weather Service in Blacksburg, Va., additional accumulations of 5 to 10 inches are possible by Tuesday. Snow will be heavy at times although periodic breaks in the snow will occur.
