Tazewell police capture nearly half from warrants list after BDT publication

TAZEWELL,Va. — After just two week of publishing active warrants in Tazewell County, Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office has captured almost half of the people who were wanted.

Tazewell County Sheriff Brian Hieatt said, we think publishing these in the Bluefield Daily Telegraph has essentially helped us capture these people.

“We thank the Bluefield Daily Telegraph for publishing these for us and also the readers who have given us tips to help capture these people,” Hieatt said.

Out of just two lists published the last couple Sundays, the Sheriff’s Office has arrested six out of the 13 people on the list, Cindy Tomlinson Tazewell County Sheriff’s Department warrants division officer said.

“We have located almost 50 percent of the people we have listed, we will continue to send a list each week to try and capture these people, it really has just been fantastic,” Tomlinson said.

For the next list of active warrants in Tazewell County see Sunday’s edition of the Daily Telegraph.
