A Bramwell man was sentenced Thursday to an indeterminate term of two to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to DUI causing death.
James Mabry, 48, was driving a vehicle that was involved in a wreck on the Brushfork-Falls Mills Road in October 2013 that claimed the life of Melvin Lambert, 63, also of Bramwell.
Mercer County Circuit Court Judge William Sadler reviewed Mabry’s prior convictions and determined he was not a candidate for alternative sentencing. Mabry was credited with 153 days of time already served.
Lambert was a passenger in a 2000 Ford Ranger pick-up truck that was being driven by Mabry. The pick-up truck ran up an embankment, spun 180-degrees and landed back in the middle of the road. Another vehicle then struck the pick-up truck head-on.
