Prerogative Shelter Drive starts Monday

Bluefield Daily Telegraph

BLUEFIELD —  Area residents are being encouraged to help make the holidays a little happier for animals in need across the region as part of the fifth annual Prerogative Shelter Drive.

Sponsored by Prerogative magazine, the pet drive will last from Monday, Dec. 10 through Friday, Dec. 14. During the time period, area residents are encouraged to donate toys, treats, food, cleaning supplies, blankets and towels to help animal shelters across the region. Donations can be dropped off for the shelter drive at the Bluefield Daily Telegraph or Princeton Times offices.

The shelter drive benefits five organizations in the region, including the Mercer County Animal Shelter, McDowell County Humane Society, Tazewell County Animal Shelter, Pet Haven Rescue Center in Falls Mills, and the Save-A-Pet Food Bank in Bluefield.

Charlie Cole of Cole HarleyDavidson will once again this year provide transportation for all items collected. Employees and volunteers from local shelters as well as Daily Telegraph and Prerogative staff volunteer their time to help unload the donations.
