Va. man nabbed on sexually related charges

PRINCETON — A Virginia man who was arrested Friday morning by the West Virginia State Police was arraigned soon afterward on charges including soliciting/enticement of a minor by computer and use of minors in filming sexually explicit conduct.

John Howard Reynolds, 38, of Honaker, Va., was arraigned before Mercer County Magistrate Mike Flanigan and committed to the Southern Regional Jail in Beaver on a $40,000 bond, according to a statement from the state police. Sgt. M.K. Summers arrested Reynolds at approximately 7:45 a.m. Friday.

The offenses allegedly occurred on or about August 2012 in Mercer County. No additional information was released due to the age of the alleged victim, Summers said.

Reynolds faces three felony charges including soliciting a minor via computer. A conviction on this charge carries a penalty of two to 10 years in prison, a fine of not more than $5,000, or both.

The second charge, distribution and exhibiting of material depicting minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct prohibited. The charge has a possible penalty of up to two years in prison and a fine of up to $2,000.

The third felony charge, use of minors in filming sexually explicit conduct prohibited. A conviction on this charge carries a penalty of up to 10 years in prison, a fine of up to $10,000, or both.
