Bull Tail Hollow death ruled natural causes

BLUEFIELD — Troopers say a man who was found dead along a Mercer County roadway most likely died of natural causes.

Curtis Wayne Sluss, 47, was found dead along a roadway in the Bull Tail Hollow community on Oct. 4. A medical report on the man’s cause of death found no signs of foul play, according to Sgt. J. Centeno of the West Virginia State Police Princeton Detachment.

“The medical examiner’s office had performed an autopsy and found no signs of foul play at this time,” Centeno said. “It all points to natural causes. Based upon family information that he had a medical condition, and the autopsy, it points to natural causes.”

Although officials believe the man died of natural causes, Centeno said the investigation will continue.
