As region continues to dig out, clipper system may bring more snow tonight

PRINCETON — As the region continues to dig out from more than a foot of snow, another clipper system could dump an additional 2 to 4 inches of snow on the region late tonight into Saturday morning.

But it should start as rain — as temperatures in the Bluefield area will climb close to 40 degrees today. The rain will continue until about 5 p.m. today before mixing with snow. The precipitation should change to all snow after 10 p.m.

Temperatures over the weekend will remain in the mid-30s before a big warm-up begins Monday. A high of 47 degrees is expected for President’s Day. Temperatures will climb closer to 50 degrees on Tuesday. A high of near 60 degrees is expected on Wednesday and Thursday.
