Police searching for suspect in break in

RICHLANDS, Va. — A Tazewell County man being sought by local law enforcement agencies for his alleged role in a Jan. 27 break in at a Richlands, Va., residence.

The Richlands Police Department and the Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office is seeking Paul Whited, 41, of Richlands, Va. Whited is a white male, approximately 5 feet, 10 inches tall, with brown hair and blue eyes, said Sergeant of Investi-gations Jerry Gilbert of the Richlands police.

Whited allegedly broke into the home and stole a vehicle parked there, Gilbert said. The vehicle was later recovered.

“He has been identified through investigation as being a suspect in the larceny,” Gilbert said. “We currently hold warrants on file for breaking and entry, and grand larceny. There were firearms stolen during the larceny, and he is considered armed and dangerous.”

Anyone with information about Whited’s location can contact the Richlands Police Department or the Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office.
