Image of suspected vehicle in Kmart robbery released

BLUEFIELD — Investigators have released an image of a vehicle that is suspected to have played a role in the recent robbery of a local store’s pharmacy.

The Kmart pharmacy along Cumberland Road was robbed July 3 when a male individual walked into the store and presented a note demanding oxycodone. He reached into his waistband and indicted that he was armed, according to investigators. Approximately 300 pills with a value of $9,000 were stolen.

The suspect was a heavyset white male approximately 6 feet tall and between the ages of 25 and 40.

The suspect then left the store and departed in a newer model white Jeep Wrangler with a spare tire on its back, said Detective K.L. Adams of the Bluefield Police Department.

Police provided surveillance camera images Thursday of the vehicle as it was traveling away from the store.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call the Bluefield Police Department at 304-327-6101.
