Search for bank robbery suspect continues

BLUEFIELD — Local police are continuing their search Tuesday for a suspect on a bicycle who robbed a local bank drive-through.

An unidentified man robbed the First Community Bank drive-through off Bluefield Avenue early Monday morning. The suspect presented a firearm and held a note up to the window demanding cash, Chief Dennis Dillow of the Bluefield Police Department said soon after the incident.

The suspect, wearing a black hoodie, black gloves and a black mask, fled on a black bicycle. An undisclosed amount of money was taken.

Lt. D.A. Pennington with the Bluefield Police said Tuesday that Cpl. J.C. Whitt continued working on the case Monday night.

“We’re still following up leads,” Pennington said.

Anyone with information can call the Bluefield Police Department at 304-327-6101.
