Arrests made in robbery

Two in custody after theft of video lottery parlor

PRINCETON — Two arrests have been made in the case of a June 11 armed robbery reported at a video lottery parlor near Princeton.

Candace Lester, no age available, and Jimmy Lockhart, no age available, have been arrested in the case, Trooper W.H. File of the West Virginia State Police Princeton detachment said Sunday. The investigating officer, Trooper B.R. Wood, was not available Sunday for additional comment.

The arrests were made Friday, June 13, File said.

Two men, one allegedly Lockhart and his brother, Jimmy Lockhart, entered Joyce’s on Courthouse Road near Princeton at approximately 11:30 p.m. on June 11 and actually played the video lottery machines before approaching Lester, who worked at the establishment, according to an earlier report by Sgt R.A. Maddy of the Princeton detachment.

The suspects then brandished a knife, took an undetermined amount of money, and bound Lester with duct tape, Maddy said.

No other customers were on the premises when the robbery took place. The incident, and images of the two suspects, were recorded on a store surveillance camera.

Investigators are still seeking Lockhart’s brother, Timmy Lockhart, File said. Anyone with information regarding his location is urged to call the Princeton detachment at 304-425-2101.
