Mercer County man threatens neighbor for feeding cats

— PRINCETON — A local man was arrested Sunday evening after taking some pruning shears and threatening a neighbor that had been feeding his cats.

The incident was reported approximately 8:19 p.m. on Lacy Street near Princeton, said Trooper First Class J.A. Cook of the West Virginia State Police Princeton detachment.

Scottie Wall, 43, allegedly threatened his neighbor with a pair of broken pruning shears, Cook said. Wall had more than 10 cats on his property, and his neighbor had been feeding them.

Wall was charged with brandishing and assault. No injuries were reported. Wall was intoxicated, so his arraignment before a magistrate was scheduled for Monday morning, Cook said.
