Bond set for Mercer County stabbing suspect

PRINCETON — Bond with a condition of home confinement was set Wednesday in the case of a Mercer County man facing charges in connection with a stabbing incident in late May near Montcalm.

Richard Danieley, 48, of Rock appeared for a bond hearing before Circuit Court Judge Derek Swope. Danieley was charge May 31 with malicious wounding and two counts of battery after a fight with Dakota Nester, 22, and Jacob Nester, 19, both of Montcalm, Trooper N.S. Syner of the West Virginia State Police Princeton detachment said after the incident.

Dakota Nester suffered a collapsed lung after being stabbed in the left side of his body, Syner said. He was treated at Bluefield Regional Medical Center, and his brother Nester was treated for minor injuries.

Swope set a $10,000 surety bond. If released, Danieley would be under home confinement with GPS monitoring. The residence where he stays must be more than five miles away from the victims, according to information with the Mercer County Circuit Clerk’s Office.

Danieley was remanded back to the Southern Regional Jail in Beaver.
