Bluefield Daily Telegraph

BLUEFIELD — More snow and dangerously cold temperatures will impact the region this weekend. And the misery will continue well into next week.

The National Weather Service in Blacksburg, Va., has issued a winter weather advisory and a wind chill advisory for Mercer, Summers and Tazewell counties. The wind chill advisory is in effect from 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. Saturday. The winter weather advisory is in effect from 6 a.m. Saturday to midnight Saturday.

Forecasters are calling for an additional 2 to 4 inches of snow with wind chill readings ranging from 5 below zero to 15 below zero.

And the extended forecast gets worse from there.

More snow is expected Sunday night into Monday with daytime highs once again falling into the teens and nighttime lows in the single digits again on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of next week.
