Fire destroys Tazewell restaurant

NORTH TAZEWELL, Va. — A fire that destroyed a Tazewell County restaurant is still under investigation by the Virginia State Police.

Randoli’s Restaurant on the westbound side of Route 460 caught fire at approximately 9:50 p.m., according to a dispatcher with Tazewell County 911.

According to Tazewell County Fire and Rescue Captain John Sinkford, the building was a total loss.

Tazewell County Fire Chief Scott Cornwell said, “the community lost a great family restaurant and jobs for those in the community. The fire is under investigation by the Virginia State Police.”

Fire departments including the town of Tazewell, Tazewell County Fire Department, Thompson Valley, and Baptist Valley had been dispatched along with Jeffersonville Rescue Squad, the Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office, the Town of Tazewell Police Department, and the Virginia State Police. Personnel with the Virginia Department of Transportation were also sent to the scene.
