BLUEFIELD — Officers of the Bluefield Police Department are “actively investigating” the burning of a police cruiser that was parked on the municipal building’s parking lot. The fire occurred “between 5:30 and 6 a.m.,” according to Sgt. G.W. Lightfoot of the police department.

“The vehicle was fully engulfed in flames when we responded this morning,” Lightfoot said. “The fire was caused by an unknown accelerate. At this time, we are still working the investigation,”
