Police probe convenience store, ATM thefts in Anawalt

ANAWALT — The McDowell County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in solving two recent breaking and entering investigations in the town of Anawalt.

The first break-in occurred on Wednesday, Jan. 16, at the Riverside No. 2 convenience store at Anawalt, according to a press release by McDowell County Sheriff Martin West.

The second break-in occurred on Monday Feb. 11, at Sissy’s Stop and Shop, also in Anawalt.

At both stores the ATMs had been burglarized and tobacco products stolen, according to the sheriff’s office.
