BLUEFIELD — Several breaking and enterings occurred Tuesday morning in the Lashmeet area.

According to Sheriff D.B. Meadows, at approximately 5:49 a.m. this morning three locations in Lashmeet including The Star Restaurant, Head Start and Lashmeet Freewill Baptist Church were all broken into with destruction of property at all locations.

Upon further investigation it was learned that The Star Restaurant had a firearm and an undisclosed amount of money stolen.

Head Start had around $5000 of electronics stolen.

The Lashmeet Freewill Baptist Church was also broken into, Meadows said.

Bradley Gene Bradshaw of Lashmeet was arrested by Det. Cpl. L.B. Murphy, Det. D.W. Sparks and Deputy C.K. Lester around 10 a.m.

Bradshaw is charged with three charges of breaking and entering, felon in possession of a firearm, receiving and transferring stolen property and two counts of grand larceny. Other charges are pending.

The property was recovered and returned to the rightful owners, Meadows said.

“We do see a lot more breaking and enterings during the holiday season, but they happen year around,” Meadows said.

The best advice is to put items in the truck where no one can see them, Meadows said.

“Ladies take your pocketbooks with you or don’t leave them in sight,” Meadows said.
