1 killed in motorcycle collision

PRINCETON — Local police directed traffic Thursday after a fatal motorcycle crash shut down the eastbound lanes of U.S. Route 460.

The incident occurred 4:15 p.m. when an eastbound cruising motorcycle towing a trailer and a propane tanker truck coming down from Mt. Horeb Road collided in the Ingleside Road intersection, said Patrolman D.R. Murray of the Princeton Police Department.

Eastbound traffic was halted when first responders arrived and started working at the scene. While other officers directed traffic and firefighters worked to clear debris, Murray said the motorcycle’s rider, who he described as an older male, died at the scene. The rider’s name was being withheld pending the notification of his family.

Both the motorcycle and the trailer had Missouri license plates. The propane tanker did not have any leaks, Murray said. The crash was still under investigation Thursday.

The Princeton Fire Department and the Princeton Rescue Squad were also dispatched to the scene.
