Two transported from three-vehicle wreck

PRINCETON — Two people were transported to the hospital Monday after a car going the wrong direction on U.S. Route  460 caused a three-car accident.

Christopher Lester, no age available, of Welch, was traveling west on Route 460 when his car struck the median.

Lester then hit the gas and came out of the median facing east in the westbound lane and applied the gas again striking a Chevy Cavalier, according to First Sgt. M.R. Crowder of the West Virginia State Police Princeton detachment.

After striking the Cavalier, Crowder said the man then hit the gas again traveling down Greasy Ridge Road and struck a tractor-trailer.

Lester was transported to the hospital and charged with failure to maintain control and driving with no insurance, Crowder said.

The driver of the Chevy Cavalier, Rosanna Welch, of Princeton, was also transported to the hospital and charged with driving on a suspended license, Crowder said.

The tractor-trailer driver did not have any injuries.

Crowder said Lester told state police that he blacked out and does not remember what happened.
