No injuries in early morning fire at West Virginia Manor in Bluefield

BLUEFIELD — No injuries were reported this morning after a fire was discovered in a garbage chute at the West Virginia Manor in downtown Bluefield.

The Bluefield Fire Department was dispatched at 3:38 a.m. and returned to the station at 5:45 a.m., said Lt. Stan McKenzie. A few floors were “smoked up” by the fire, he said. The State Fire Marshal will investigate the cause.
