Light snow expected for area

Bluefield Daily Telegraph

BLUEFIELD — Cloudy skies are predicted for today as light snow and rain move through the area.

The National Weather Service in Blacksburg is reporting that the region will have less than an inch of snow.

The temperature will be in the mid 30’s throughout the day with a very small window for snow, meteorologist Robert Beasley said.

“It will be very hard for snow to accumulate on roads because the temperatures will not be low enough,” Beasley said.

It looks as though the snow will be more north of Interstate 64. Although tonight is looking to drop down into the teens, winds will be minimal, Beasley said.
