Spaulding’s mother testifies that other people used defendant’s computer

PRINCETON — The mother of a Mercer County man, now facing charges including sexual assault and possession of child pornography, testified today at his trial in Mercer County Circuit Court Thursday morning.

Sandra Spaudling, mother of John Spaudling, 41, said other people frequently used Spaudling’s laptop computer at their home. She also said Kimberly Cox would visit and use her son’s laptop computer. Authorities found images of child porn on the computer.

Jerry Shrader Jr., one of Spaudling’s former coworkers at Bluefield Beverage, testified that Spaulding would allow fellow employees to play games on his cell phone. According to Shrader’s testimony, when the phone wasn’t available, Spaulding said Cox had the phone.

The trial is continuing today.
