A search warrant executed at a McDowell County residence netted prescription narcotics and two arrests.
Drugs were sold at the house to a confidential informant working with law enforcement officials, Sheriff Martin B. West said. The search warrant was executed by the McDowell County Sheriff's Office and the Southern Regional Drug and Violent Crime Task Force.
West said warrants were issued on Patricia Sandra Kennedy, 46, and Ricky Lee Kennedy, 44, both from the Oozley Hollow area. The two were husband and wife and lived at the residence where the drug buys occurred, according to West.
West said Patricia Kennedy was charged with five counts of delivery of a schedule II controlled substance and one count of felony conspiracy. She was arraigned before Magistrate Richard VanDyke, who set bond at $100,000.
West said Ricky Kennedy was charged with four counts of delivery of a schedule II controlled substance and one count of felony conspiracy. He also was arraigned before VanDyke, who set bond at $75,000.
The couple made bond Tuesday, and were released pending trial, according to Sgt. James Muncy, also of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office.
The investigation continues.
