BSC Center for Applied Research Technology receives $50,000 federal grant

BLUEFIELD — Bluefield State College’s Center for Applied Research Technology has received a $50,000 federal grant to improve technology for entrepreneurial business development in West Virginia.

U.S. Rep. Nick Rahall, D-W.Va., announced the college would be awarded the funds as part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development program’s  Rural Business Opportunity grants. According to Bluefield State spokesperson Jim Nelson, the Center for Applied Research Technology (CART) works with various business operations from mine rescue to robotics.
