Voter turnout light in Athens, Bramwell, Matoaka and Oakvale

ATHENS — Voter turnout in four Mercer County towns was light Tuesday with incumbents  largely being re-elected, according to unofficial returns.

For example, only 12 people voted in Matoaka where the incumbents were largely re-elected by 11 votes. One candidate, town recorder Annie Bowden, won with 12 votes.

In the town of Athens, only 61 people voted. Incumbent Mayor Carol Bard was re-elected with 49 votes in Athens. Incumbents Joe Manzo and Roger Lokay also were re-elected by 37 and 36 votes each.
