TAZEWELL, Va. —
A flash flood warning for western Tazewell County remains in effect until 6:45 p.m. this evening.
According to the National Weather Service in Blacksburg, Va., radar has indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the area. The warning states up to three inches of rain have already fallen, and flash flooding is expected. Areas included in the warning are Claypool Hill, Amonate and Cliffield.
A flood advisory also remains in effect for Tazewell County until 5 p.m. A severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect until 10 p.m. for McDowell and Wyoming counties.
