An early Sunday morning drug raid on a McDowell County residence led to two arrests on possession with intent to distribute cocaine base, also known as “crack,” and a third individual who allegedly attempted to purchase drugs when state troopers were processing evidence at the scene.
Troopers J.R. Coburn, J.C. Mann and J.K. Weiss executed the search warrant at the residence at about 1 a.m., Sunday morning. “We recovered some crack cocaine and some money in the residence,” Coburn.
“While we were inside the residence processing the scene, a guy came in and handed the money through the door. He said: ‘Hey, can you fix me up?’ We said: ‘Sure. Come on in,’ and this guy came walking in with cash in his hand.”
The two male subjects who were living at the house, Rayshad Jones, 24, and Winston Hiett, 20, both of Maybeury were arrested on felony charges of possession of crack with intent to distribute. The third subject who arrived at the house while troopers were executing the search warrant, Kenyada Foddrell, 36, of Northfork, was arrested on a charge of attempting to commit a misdemeanor.
Coburn said Sunday afternoon that he was uncertain as to whether or not the three subjects have appeared before a magistrate for arraignment early Sunday afternoon.
