TAZEWELL, Va. —
The Virginia State Fire Marshal’s Office has been called in to investigate a blaze at an unoccupied structure in Tazewell County.
Dispatchers with Tazewell County 911 said a fire was reported at a small structure on Clear Fork Road at 6:55 p.m. Tuesday and rekindled early Wednesday morning. The structure was unoccupied when firefighters arrived on scene on both occasions.
According to dispatchers, the fire marshal’s office was contacted to conduct an arson investigation by the chiefs of Clear Fork Volunteer Fire Department and Tazewell County Fire and Rescue.
Firefighters with the Clear Fork Volunteer Fire Department, Burke’s Garden Volunteer Fire Department, Tazewell County Fire and Rescue, and Baptist Valley Volunteer Fire Department all responded to the scene of the initial blaze Tuesday night.
