AFTERNOON UPDATE — High school playoffs begin tonight

Bluefield Daily Telegraph

BLUEFIELD — Playoffs begin tonight for high school football teams in Four Seasons Country. Bluefield hosts Liberty-Raliegh at Mitchell Stadium in the area's marquee West Virginia Class AA game. PikeView makes a return to the postseason for the first time since 1996 tonight as they visit Westside. In West Virginia Class AAA, Princeton visits top-seeded Brooke.

Things are just as busy on the Virginia side. In Virginia Group AA Region IV Division 3 action, Graham travels to Tazewell and Grundy visits Marion in a pair of Southwest District rematches. And in Group A Region C Division 1 play, Narrows pays a visit to Bath County.

For complete coverage of these games and more sports, see Saturday's edition of the Bluefield Daily Telegraph.
