MORNING UPDATE: Police release identity of victim in pedestrian fatality

BLUEFIELD, Va. — Police are continuing their investigation into a fatal pedestrian accident near Bluefield, Va.

Phillip Albert Wray, 41, of Castlewood, Va., died after being struck by a vehicle Sunday at 6:26 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. Route 19-460 and Route 720, near Bluefield, Va., according to a report by Trooper R.L. Hamilton of the Virginia State Police.

Hamilton said a 1995 Nissan Pathfinder struck Wray, who ran into the road.
