AFTERNOON UPDATE — Trooper still hospitalized in Bristol ICU unit following crash

— TAZEWELL, Va. - A state trooper injured in a crash on U.S. Route 460 near Bluefield, Va., remains hospitalized in the intensive care unit of Bristol Regional Medical Center.
Trooper F.R. Farthing of the Virginia State Police remains hospitalized in the ICU unit at Bristol Regional Medical Center, Sgt. T.W. Carter said.
“I’m not a doctor, but I’m thinking he’s stable,” Carter said. “He will be in ICU for several days.”
The crash occurred at the intersection of U.S. Route 460 and Slade Road, near Bluefield, Va., Tuesday afternoon.
