ATHENS — Concord University has hired Kathryn Southcott as their new volleyball coach. Southcott, who played the sport for four years at Ithaca (N.Y.) College, will take over the reins of the Lady Lions on Aug. 1, according to interim athletics director Kevin Garrett.
“I’ve been coaching volleyball and playing volleyball all of my life,” Southcott said. “I had a career goal that when I’d done as much as I possibly could in the position where I was, I would try to move on to the college level.”
She replaces Patricia Hardin, who is retiring after 16 years on the Concord faculty and coaching staff.
