AFTERNOON UPDATE — Police identify victim in fatal Tazewell County fire

— RICHLANDS, Va. - The cause of a fatal Tazewell County fire is still unknown.
Danny Lynn Shortt, 59, of 317 Tazewell Avenue, Richlands, died in the early morning blaze Wednesday, Richlands Police Chief William Puckett said.
Puckett said the man died as a result of apparent smoke inhalation.
“The investigation into the cause of the fire is continuing,” Puckett said. “At this time, we do not expect any foul play.”
