Sticky situation could pay off

PEABODY, Mass. — Lots of people are stuck on Peabody High School senior Alexa Duchesneau’s duct-tape dress.

Duchesneau made the dress as part of a nationwide contest sponsored by the Duck brand. It was part of the Stuck at Prom Scholarship Contest. She also made a spiffy duct-tape tux for boyfriend Austin Brewster.

The couple wore them to the Peabody High senior prom.

Duchesneau’s creation was chosen as one of the top 10 designs from across the nation and is a finalist in the contest.

That puts the pair in the running to win $5,000 apiece, with another $5,000 going to their school.

The current portion of the contest involves votes from the public. According to the rules, anyone visiting the www.stuckatprom.com website is eligible to vote. The voting period ends July 11.
