No real raise; no respect for miners

— — We are supposedly getting a 1.5 percent raise on our Social Security. But we really aren’t going to be getting anything. When you go to the grocery store it takes the raise plus more away.

I went to the grocery store the other day and they had went up on the hams $1 from the week before. Gas has went up. The Daily Telegraph went up $2.74 on the month, that is including the Princeton Times. So in all, we may be getting a raise on paper but in all reality we aren’t.

I worked hard for 30 years in the mines and I feel like the coal miners are what made the world what it is today. They want to take everything away from us miners. We get no respect from anyone anymore.
