Law officers’ hard work appreciated

— — A year and a year and a half ago, I had around $4,000 worth of tools stolen from job sites I was working on. I was ready to regretfully take my loses, as it is rare any stolen items are recovered.

However, due to the efforts of the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department, West Virginia State Police and the Mercer County Prosecuting Attorney’s office, I recovered most of my loses (minus about $50 worth of tools).

I just want to express publicly how much I appreciate these people, Especially Trooper S.R. Moore of the West Virginia State Police Princeton detachment, who worked this case for one and a half years. A job well done. Also, thanks to deputy A.M. Ballard with the sheriff’s department, and also Assistant Prosecuting Attorney George Sitler. I am just a simi-retired working man and these officers of the law really went the extra mile for me. People of Mercer County, be proud of our law enforcement officers for they are very good at what they do, with very little appreciation. A very grateful citizen,

R.C. Belcher

Princeton
