Food drive teaches value of giving

— — On November 18,19 and 20 the students of Brushfork Elementary School conducted a canned food drive to help others in their community. After just three days of collection, they donated 832 cans of food to the Union Mission, the Salvation Army and Appalachian Teen Challenge.

What a blessing it was to watch the joy on each face as the cans were tallied each morning. The teachers did an excellent job of helping their students learn the value of giving to others.

The students, teachers and parents at Brushfork Elementary are to be highly commended for their generosity and giving spirit.
