How much do residents pay in tolls?

— — For some time the issue of turnpike tolls has been in your newspaper often. We pay the fee at times, but not often.

I have taken a random count of the in-state cars and trucks on the road and would be interested in the actual count of in-state and out-of-state that really pay for the use of the road. Is it really a big part that we pay?

The next item is taxes. Most of us travel to Tennessee to the Smokies and pay an average of 11 to 12 percent sales tax and they have no state income tax at all. Sounds to me like we could let them out-of-state folks pay some more.
