Bluefield could give lessons on beauty

— — I just wanted to say that I went to Bluefield a couple of months ago and I wanted to let the city of Bluefield know how beautiful their town was. The flowers were the most beautiful things I have ever seen.

I also want to say thank you to my dentist, Dr. Stevens, and his staff. They are all wonderful people and the doctor is very good with his patients.

I would hope someone from Princeton would see how pretty Bluefield is so they could do the same, and our little town of Matoaka needs someone from Bluefield to give them a lesson or two on beauty.

West Virginians and Mercer Countians are still good people but we get put down a lot. West Virginia is my state because I am 87 and I love West Virginia. I believe we are still a praying state and I pray it will always be.

For our miners, don’t back down from coal. West Virginia has always been about coal. Don’t stop now. We are proud of our coal miners.

Our thoughts and prayers are for our state and our coal miners.

God Bless you all is my prayer.

Mrs. Dorothy Lawrence
